Down Syndrome Innovations’ occupational therapist, Morgan Hodges, will provide strategies to caregivers and service providers for building skills for long-term independence and empowering your loved one to live a self-determined life. We all want our loved ones to learn to take responsibility in building their future and shaping their quality of life, and we know they may need assistance and inspiration on that journey from those who care for them the most.

Morgan Hodges is skilled at providing functional therapeutic supports that can be used in your home and in your community. Morgan’s experience includes school-based and community-based therapeutic settings. She is passionate about supporting families and self-advocates across the lifespan to engage and participate in meaningful day-to-day activities. Her interests include building life skills, sensory processing and regulation, fine and gross motor development, and empowering independence and self-determination.

Join us prior to the presentation from 6:00-6:30 pm for a time to connect with other caregivers and enjoy light refreshments.

Child Policy at Education Seminars

We strive to create a professional learning environment for all adults who attend our educational sessions, and in respect of the speakers providing their expertise to our community. Therefore, the minimum age that one is allowed to attend our conference educational sessions is 13 years old. Other children are not allowed, with the exception of babies in arms (approximately 12 months or younger), who can be quietly cared for by a parent or legal guardian. We ask that parents please use their discretion when deciding whether or not to bring their child to a seminar. If a child is disruptive to other attendees, and the parent or guardian is not voluntarily leaving the room, the parent or guardian will be asked by a staff member to leave the room with the child until the child can quietly return to the session.

Inclusion of Teen and Adult Self-Advocates
Per caregiver discretion, teen and adult self-advocates are welcome to attend educational sessions with their caregiver. You are welcome to notify DSI staff if your loved one needs accommodation for optimal learning.
