We serve as the expert resource and lead community mobilizer, sharing knowledge and creating solutions for people with Down syndrome.
Down Syndrome Innovations, formerly Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City (DSG), was founded in 1984 by a group of parents who shared a vision to support families experiencing the birth of a child with Down syndrome. Like all loving parents, they wanted their kids to thrive and wanted support and community. They wanted their children to grow up happy, healthy, encouraged, and empowered.
Our organization was incorporated in 1986 and received its 501(c)(3) not-for-profit exempt status in 1987. We have spent nearly four decades developing a proven portfolio of comprehensive support services and programs that other Down syndrome organizations across the United States replicate. These programs create positive outcomes for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the professionals who serve them.
