This workshop is designed and facilitated by a licensed Occupational Therapist. Self-advocates 16 years and older will participate in learning activities targeting community safety and independence through natural learning opportunities by visiting different community shops in Mission, KS. The workshop will address a variety of related topics including navigating a walking community safely, building cognitive skills required for planning an outing, and promoting social skill development. Self-advocates are encouraged to dress appropriately for brief outdoor walking.
