The Lifelong Learning Campus: Allowing Us to Expand and Serve People of All Ages!
As an organization, DSG has outgrown our current facility and must expand to better serve the Down syndrome community—from birth through late adulthood. As we embark on our first-ever capital project, we will renovate our current space and our adjacent building to create a campus that offers our services and support in one, convenient location.
This 11,000 square-foot, multi-functional Lifelong Learning Campus will be the center of the Down syndrome ecosystem: a space equipped to foster community; develop and deploy innovative services; and embrace the full potential of people with Down Syndrome.
The Campus will offer space for people of all ages with Down syndrome to receive therapeutic services; gain employment and independent living skills; be creative; use technology; make friends and work together. It will increase access, capacity, and continuity of services, which will increase the likelihood of positive outcomes for the families we serve.
About the Lifelong Learning Campus Capital Campaign, Mabee Challenge Grant
The J.E. & L.E. Mabee Foundation awarded DSG a $350,000 challenge grant in support of the Lifelong Learning Campus. In order to receive the funding, DSG must raise $772,000 by April 14, 2021.
Please consider supporting the mission of the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City and the families we serve by making a gift in support of our Lifelong Learning Campus!
Your investment in this Campus will allow us to serve people with Down syndrome from birth through late adulthood. We hope you will consider a gift that will offer a place for people with Down syndrome to dream big and reach their full potential! Your gift not only impacts the families we currently serve, but also people with Down syndrome for generations to come!
