Vice President of Lifespan Services

Sarah was appointed Executive Director in December of 2024. She joined our organization in 2018 as the Vice President of Lifespan Services.

With over 25 years of experience serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Sarah Mai joined Down Syndrome Innovations in 2018. She oversees all aspects of DSI’s educational and therapeutic services that serve people with Down syndrome—and their families—across the lifespan. She is a proven leader at managing operations vital to mission delivery; recruiting and empowering talented professionals; fostering leadership and collaboration; and effectively building a team. She is a licensed occupational therapist with expertise in innovative program design and implementation and nonprofit leadership.

Sarah earned a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Studies and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas.
